Christ Presbyterian Church is involved in a wide variety of ministries in support of our members, families, communities and the larger world.
The Angel Basket program was developed by Christ Church members and has been providing assistance to families in the Telluride area for over 20 years. Clothing, toys, tools, household items and other needed items are donated for distribution at Christmas. Year round programs also supply the needs of families in our area.
Christ Church members have also long been involved in our community food bank and recently helped establish the San Miguel County Food Bank near the church. Christ church continues to support the program through donations of food and funds and through our volunteers.
St. Michaels School is located on the Navajo Reservation near Window Rock, Arizona. The school houses and supports children who are specially challenged both physically and mentally. Through a local Telluride contact we have helped support this school for over 6 years. Christ Church has made a donation each year for the past 6 years to St. Michaels School so they can hold their school Prom.
The PCUSA for over 60 years has promoted One Great Hour of Sharing. It is a program that is part of the Lent season. OGHS provides support to the world’s hungry and thirsty, disaster relief and self-reliance. This food security ministry is built on our “spare change”. Each year it raises around $20 million to assist in famine relief, clean water, and education of farming techniques and farm management. Our church takes an active role through our Sunday School to promote One Great Hour of Sharing.
